Alameda Point Environmental Report 
Beautiful, Richard! This looks like the “Magic Carpet” of ice plant described in the Alameda NAS Cultural Landscape Report. Originally, landscape architects had planned to splash this color all over the base, at key portals.

Richard, are you able to give any direction on where these photos were taken at the refuge?

Go to this Google map and zoom in for a closer look. The legend describes the marker on the lower part of the map where the photos where taken from, and also has arrows indicating the general angle. Note that this earth image is not current and does not quite jibe with my photos as far as all the color and greenery.

Not only not native, but at the top of the invasive wildland pest plant list of the CPNS. Sorry to rain on your parade. On the other hand, it’s probably better than asphalt…prettier, that’s for sure.
